Joey Ramone, lead vocalist of punk rock band the Ramones was a countercultural icon. “Wanna Be Sedated” with the infamous lyrics “Twenty, Twenty, Twenty Four Hours to Go” was the perfect song to use as the inspiration for this piece. Capturing Ramone in his trademark glasses, leather jacket and of course a Ramone’s t-shirt was quintessential for this painting.
